As I have mentioned too often, we are going to Disney World for the boys’ big 3rd Birthday at the end of October, beginning of November. (you only turn 3 once, right?) I have been feverishly researching and reading and planning and I am loving it. I literally cannot wait for the trip, it is going to be amazing. I decided to start collecting souvenirs for the boys so we can save over the park’s merchandise, so I have picked up some toys and PJs and other misc things for them when I find them on sale. I also pick up little things we can use to entertain them on the plane in the dollar section as I see them. I am putting together a good little collection of Disney stuff to reward their awesome behavior in the parks, and celebrate their birthday big.
This week I got this crazy idea to make them shirts for the trip, so they can be unique and easy to spot. Plus, it gives me something to focus all this excited energy toward. So I now present the first batch of finished Disney shirts. They are a surprise, so don’t tell the boys. I used a Bowling Shirts for Kids pattern, which was pretty easy, except the sleeves were a tad tricky (I would have guessed it would be the collar, nope. That was a breeze.) I *may* have purchased some additional fabrics in other characters to make a few more batches. I will share as they are done.
I love how these turned out, and I hope that now I have an idea what I am doing I can whip them out in no time. (These took about 4 naps, but that included learning how to sew buttons and buttonholes.)

I think mom and dad need shirts matching the kids. Nothing cuter than the family with matching shirts at Disney!
You could make a killing selling this stuff. Everything you make…the quilts, my beloved kitchen towels, these adorable shirts… you are seriously amazing.
Love the pattern! You have talent! Can’t wait to see the other shirts!
