Day out with Thomas

We wrapped our preschool trains week with an grand day out to see Thomas. The Illinois Railway Museum is only about half-hour away and every year they host Thomas for the weekend. Our little boys are really into trains these days and had a lot of fun reading books about Trains but this time we got to not only see them up close but also got to ride a train with Thomas at the helm. Here are lots and lots of photos from our grand day out.

The boys got temporary tattoos, Justin’s was Thomas and Joshua’s was Henry. They loved their tattoos, and kept pointing them out all day. We saw lots of old railway cars and old El trains. There was an awesome model railway, Sir Topham Hatt, and our ride with Thomas. I think we can say the boys had a great time. They fell asleep on the ride home and when Jeff started to get Justin out of his carseat, he woke up suddenly and said, “Choo-choo” in his half-asleep haze.
