Cozy Cooper
Last week we started a project to refurbish some outdoor toys we had scored for free from a neighbor down the street. The playhouse and the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe were in OK shape but were faded and dirty. The ubiquitous red and yellow cars have always been a hit with the boys at playdates, and we ere excited to have gotten one for free. Ours, however, was less iconic and more sad. It was butter yellow and pale pink. It needed a face lift. After much discussion and brainstorming, we came up with the perfect idea. And it turned out amazing!

And After:
The paint was Krylon Fusion for plastic. The car was cleaned well and painted. The racing stripes on the front were masked in with tape. The Union Jack was a splurge from Etsy, custom -sized for this project. The Mini logo was from another online store. And finally the last details were the original Little Tikes decals, which we found on eBay. We also replaced the broken/missing gas caps from both cars and got the Cozy Coupe Police decals on eBay.
The Police car was in much better shape, didn’t need paint. But it was without a gas cap or decals. Now we have two awesome little cars.
To the yard, boys, let’s play Italian Job!

Great idea! I had never heard of spray paint for plastics, but after reading your post I painted an old water table that I had planned on getting rid of. Thanks for sharing! Oh, and here’s our “new” water table:http://warmhotchocolate.com/2011/06/20/jennas-soup-kitchen/
